Welcome!

Thank you for visiting; although this blog has taken me far longer to write than I had ever anticipated. If you look at the dates, you'll know that I am very behind. I apologize in advance for that.

This is the story of my fight with Stage IV breast cancer. When I was 29 years old, the cancerous tumor in my breast was misdiagnosed as a cyst. My hope is that this blog will help other women to learn to ask for a mammogram or even a biopsy if they feel something suspicious in their breast, regardless of their age. Breast Cancer Bracelets!

I have a page with which I try and sell breast cancer bracelets. Please visit it here. You are just going to love them. Well, besides the fact that they say "cancer" on them, they are a cute, two-color pink. Check them out! (All proceeds to help pay my gigantic medical bill, which currently exceeds $300,000.)

My parents are arriving

Tonight my mom and dad flew in to Phoenix to be with me for my big day tomorrow.  My mom has been afraid to fly ever since the 9/11 tragedy.  She swore she would never step foot on a plane again.  That was before her baby was sick.

My mom and dad are staying at a hotel near by.  I picked them up and brought them over to show them my house.  This is the first time they’ve ever seen my home!  Quite exciting for me, as I am very proud of my house.  It was nice to sit and visit with them and talk about everything.  I’m so glad that they came and could be here for me.

Tomorrow I start chemo.  I’m not really nervous about it because it doesn’t seem real to me.  I can tell my mom is nervous.  She looks like she’s been crying.  I just hope that everyone will be able to get some rest tonight.
